Course Description: Learn creative animation projects to bring back to your classroom! In this workshop, you will create characters, props, and backgrounds from upcycled materials, building your confidence with reuse practices. Participants will be introduced to a series of art lessons that they then are given time to modify and expand upon for the classroom. You will develop new lessons that use animation as a storytelling medium to support self-expression in your students.
*Note: We are excited to announce that we have scholarship funding to waive the MFTA fee for 10 participants. To be eligible, you must be a NYC Public Schools teacher at a Title 1 school, or high ENI school. This opportunity is first-come, first-served. To request a scholarship, please submit this form.
Registration Instructions: If you are taking this course for P-Credits/+30 Credits, you will need to register on both the MFTA and the ASPDP website. Once you register on MFTA, you will receive instructions for registering on ASPDP.
