MFTA Gallery Opening Reception

Explore the MFTA Gallery’s latest exhibit, presented by the fall 2018 Artist-in-Residence, Dionis Ortiz.

Meet the artist, tour the MFTA Gallery and enjoy live performances by DJ Momar Clemons and the drummers of Miguel Pérez.

The multi-media show explores masculinity, vulnerability, the supernatural, family and religion set against Ortiz’s personal roles in his community, culture and personal life.

Dionis Ortiz is an interdisciplinary artist working in painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, video and installation art. An accomplished creator, he has been the recipient of several grants and honors, including The Bronx Museum of the Arts’ in the Marketplace program, the Studio Immersion Project fellowship, and was selected by the Harlem River Park Fund to create an image that reflects the Central and East Harlem communities. Dionis has a BFA from SUNY Purchase and a MFA from Hunter College. LEARN MORE
