Reused Shop Rags

A Conversation with Jason Rohlf
MFTA Third Thursday
Thursday, August 20, 7-8pm

Join us online for a live conversation with Brooklyn-based artist Jason Rohlf and MFTA Education Director John Cloud Kaiser. Rohlf is known for creating textured collage paintings with vibrant, space-like geometric designs. His “Shop Rag Project,” featured in MFTA’s Contemporary Reuse 2020 exhibition, is a unique series of paintings made from the rags used to clean up excess paint. Once dried and layered upon one another, the rags become a canvas for painting.

MFTA invites guests to attend this presentation, as we think about ways to make art from objects around our own homes. Attendees may take part in the conversation, which will be live-streamed to YouTube by submitting questions for Jason Rohlf during the event.
