Sock Puppets and Making Art with Author Fran Quittel

January 16, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

MFTA Third Thursday

Join us for an evening of puppet making, creating art, and storytelling with accomplished author, Fran Quittel. Perfectly attuned to fall, winter, and the experience we all have of losing something we love, Quittel’s book, The Central Park Lost Mitten Party (Regent Press, 2nd printing 2019) demonstrates how through imagination and creativity, we can transform events we do not like into springboards for creating something completely fresh and new.

Bring a remaining shoe, sock, mitten or glove of your own, or take one from our MFTA classroom supplies, and learn to create puppets and art, transforming one of life’s bumps in the road into a new adventure.

About Fran Quittel
Fran Quittel is a native New Yorker who, since 1996, has split her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Manhattan. Quittel is an author whose ingenious story, The Central Park Lost Mitten Party, uses the backdrop of America’s best loved urban public park to create a magical solution for everything we lose, no matter how old we are. Quittel has a B.A. from Hunter College and an M. Phil. from Yale University. You can find instructions on puppet making and creating art at https://centralparklostmittenparty.com/engage-create.

Please join author Fran Quittel at MFTA at our workshop on January 16, 2020, and at FAO Schwarz on December 14, 2019 for a Holiday Book Signing at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, (Fifth Avenue and 49th Street), New York, NY.
