Create your own Wood Assemblage Sculpture

May 16, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

MFTA Third Thursday
Learn how reusable and distressed wood can be transformed into beautiful sculptures.  Yasmin Gur is an artist who creates artwork and installations out of broken and discarded wood. At this workshop, she will share her artmaking techniques and guide participants in creating their own sculptures.
Participants will get a private tour of Gur’s work on display in MFTA’s current gallery exhibit Contemporary Reuse 2019. Learn more about Gur and her Upcycle Junction Market at the Flatbush Junction on June 2 where reuse artists will be selling their artwork.

About MFTA Third Thursday events:
Every third Thursday of the month MFTA holds public programming–from craft making to artist talks, performances, and gallery openings. Come to MFTA and enjoy music, refreshments, and the creative NYC community with this monthly gathering. Funding for Third Thursdays is provided by the Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation.
