A Conversation with Actor BD Wong

March 28, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Join us at the Materials for the Arts warehouse for a LIVE show recording of the podcast Person Place Thing with Randy Cohen, which engages famous writers, actors, performers, artists, thinkers, and creatives in intimate conversations as they discuss one person, one place, and one thing that are important to them. At this special event, Cohen will be in conversation with actor and longtime MFTA supporter BD Wong.

Starring on stage, television, and in motion pictures, Wong is known for playing forensic psychologist George Huang in Law & Order: SVU, Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic World, Song Liling in M. Butterfly, and the voice of Li Shang in Disney’s Mulan. He has won five major theater awards, including Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Clarence Derwent Award, and Theater World Award for his performance in his Broadway debut M. Butterfly. A supporter of local arts and LGBTQIA+ non-profits, BD Wong has since appeared in more than twenty other Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional productions and twenty-five films.

MFTA invites you to our warehouse for this special Person Place Thing show recording featuring performances by Grammy-nominated instrumentalist Hubby Jenkins. Enjoy refreshments and conversations with NYC’s creative community.

RSVPs to this event will be added to Person Place Thing email list.
