Collaborative Artmaking Workshop “Trees of America” led by Bel Falleiros and Renata Cruz With Art Exhibition by Public Artist-in-Residence Modesto Flako Jimenez

August 17, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Free

Join us on Thursday, August 17 for an opportunity to participate in a hands-on art making activity with ÁRVORES DA AMÉRICA (Trees of America), led by Bel Falleiros and Renata Cruz where attendees are invited to create an installation with paper banners and earth pigments. These banners will be painted with phrases from individuals that bring us inspiration and then woven with one another. Attendees will then collectively speak the sentences, finding connection with their words and one another.

Trees of America is a collaborative project created by Cruz and Falleiros  that was born from the desire to share knowledge of the many inspiring beings of America. Created originally as a virtual experience, it has since become a document of this ever-growing and multiplying collective learning: The Desire to Be Forest.

Attendees are also welcome to peruse an art show featuring work from NYC Health + Hospitals 2022 Public Artist-in-Residence (PAIR) and Oye Group founder Modesto Flako Jimenez!
