MFTA Gallery: “Manos Que Tejen Luz” by Magda Love (Mondays – Fridays)

In “Manos Que Tejen Luz,” — translating to “Hands that Weave Light” — MFTA Artist-in-Residence Magda Love has chosen to spread light by creating an immersive tapestry installation of colossal proportions that consumes the entire MFTA Gallery. Made of multicolored panels stitched together in collaboration with over 250 volunters, Love’s work depicts an Edenic landscape replete with flora and fauna. Love transports viewers into a playful garden paradise — a collaborative artwork that exists within an ecosystem of care, nurturing, and belonging.
Draped throughout MFTA’s almost 90-foot-long gallery space, from floor to ceiling, Manos Que Tejen Luz takes viewers on a journey through the night into dawn.
The MFTA Gallery is open Mondays through Fridays from 9:30am to 4:30pm, excluding federal holidays.
“Manos Que Tejen Luz” is on view through January 8, 2026.
